Well, hello! I should start by admitting that I’ve been working on perfecting my website and blog for a while now and have been apprehensive of starting this journey. But I’m ready to jump in head first (is that the saying?). Some of you might know me from my 2nd grade math resources on Teachers Pay Teachers or Instagram.

Who am I?

I am a former educator who taught in an elementary setting for the past 10 years. I started my journey as an educator in a preschool classroom, then taught technology to K-5 students. When I moved into a grade level position, I started in 4th grade and then taught 2nd and 1st as well. My passion lies with primary grades, specifically in intentional and meaningful building of those core reading and math skills.
Core Values of Technically Simple Teaching
We are living during a time that technology is truly a staple in most households and communities. Our students must learn how to use technology in a meaningful way. The issue with education technology resources (in my opinion), is that there is an underlying belief that with the correct technology, teaching can be foolproof. Classroom teachers, we all know this isn’t true.
Edtech tools will never replace strong educators and meaningful, updated pedagogy. Can technology enhance the classroom? Absolutely. But we will always need teachers to uphold best practices. I find it so important to design meaningful activities for students to practice their standards and allow access to content in a variety of ways.
This is why I am passionate about creating digital products that are easy for teachers with any level of technology comfort. You can check out some of my digital escape rooms and other digital math resources at my TPT Store here. While I am passionate about 2nd grade math, I also love designing across grade levels and subjects.
